A fun update!

Granted this week was extremely stressful, I managed to get some fun stuff in!
My mom was at a Michael's craft store and she found a whole box full of Cross-stitch magazines! She took some home for me, they are pretty:

I also had a chance to make fondue, twice! It is usually very hard for me to get the consistancy right, but it turned out perfect!

And I also started a project, and finished it in one night. I can't post pictures just yet. Ask me again after March 3rd ;)

HAPPY WEEKEND TO ALL! I am so ready for some rest and relaxation inbetween homework :)

Happy Go Lucky

I spent the entire day studying. This coming week is going to be rough at best. After this week, things start looking up, I have friends coming to visit, I have a trip to SD, and then the semester will be almost over. I can't wait!

I gave myself the evening off. My mind needed a break. I watched Hell's Kitchen, and Kitchen Nightmares while making this guy:

A St.Patrick's Day Hedge Hog, the pattern is from Urban Threads. It's a great place for fun patterns! I made it in about 2 hours it was a lovely little break.

I also went to IKEA with my mom this past week. I have had a blank wall, however it is blank no more:

These are wallpaper stickers! They peel off easily when you no longer want them. They are easy to peel off and stick! Easy on the pocket as well for only about $15. I love them!

Time to get to sleep, I have an Oscar Party to attend tomorrow. Then more studying!

Back to basics

Like I said before, I am trying to re-vamp my blog. I came up with a bunch of great names. I am paranoid about being sued or whatever for using someone elses name or trademark! So I made sure to look up the names on google. Turns out about everything I have come up with this far has been taken. I will continue my contemplation as the weekend progresses....*sigh* being creative is hard sometimes.

Winter Birds

I cannot stop listening to Ray LaMontagne. Nope, nope. He is soothing and great to listen to when you want to relax or study. I keep buying more of his music! Here is my new favorite: Winter Birds

I had no idea this was song was on Grey's Anatomy (i never watch that show anymore). Anyways, the song is poetic, deep and beautiful! Here are the lyrics:
It's the Widow now that owns that angry plow,
The spartan Mule and The Crippled Cow
The fallow field that will yield no more,
As the fox lay sleeping beneath her kitchen floor

The stream can't contain such the withering rain,
And from the pasture the fence it is leaning away
The clouds crack and growl
Like some great cat on the prowl
Crying out, "I am, I am" over and over again

The days grow short
As the nights grow long
The kettle sings its tortured song
As many petalled kiss I place upon her brow,
Oh, my lady, Lady I am loving you now

The winter birds have come back again,
Here the sprightly Chickadee
Gone now is the Willow Wren
In passing greet each other as if old, old friends
And to the voiceless trees
It is their own they will lend

The days grow short
As the nights grow long
The kettle sings its tortured song
As many petalled kiss I place upon her brow,
Oh, my lady, Lady I am loving you now

And though all these things will change,
The memories will remain
As green to gold, and gold to brown
The leaves will fall to feed the ground
And in their falling, make no sound

Oh my lady,
Lady I am loving you now

I've gathered all my money and I'm goin' to town,
To buy my lady a long and flowing gown
'Cause come tomorrow morning
We're off to the county fair
I'll find a yellow flower
And I will lace it in her hair

Burned out.

It is only the first week of February. I am exhausted. I am working out more, eating better but sleeping less, and doing way too much homework. I had great plan for my homework this weekend, however more homework than expected popped up, great. This time it wasn't me procrastinating either. Ugh.

As a result, I have to make sacrifices. I cannot start any more projects, like more coffee monsters or finish the car for my grandpa. *sigh* I can't even read my vampire books. It's been so long I don't even remember what the 3rd book is about. Great.

In other news because I cannot craft I found this on the blog linked: Things He's Seen, which is from yet another website. That's not the point. The point is I like this video. Why? Well because I was talking with my friend Akalina about life today. I feel that we should be asking ourselves this question everyday. :) I think I do, which is why I think I have been so happy lately. Despite not being able to craft as much, I am still accomplishing more in a day than I ever thought I would. *pats self on back*

Watch it, and tell me what your answer would be!

Night Owl meets Groggy Morning

Why am I awake!? I have a lot to do tomorrow. It's my Mom's birthday too! Happy Birthday Mom!

Over the weekend, before school engulfs my life. I made some softies! I found a great new website, Urban Threads. I love love love their designs! Simple, cute, fun and easy to make softies out of!

here are two designs I turned into softies:.
#1 Night Owl- I had to make my mom another owl. I loved the button eyeballs!

#2 Morning Monster- Besides the snail I made way back when, this might be my favorite felt softy yet. It is hard to see his arms, they are the same color green but he is holding a coffee mug! I love everything about his groggy, "I want to go back to bed," look. Including the bunny slippers! I have him by my bed, so I see him when I wake up in the mornings. I still need to stuff him though.

That is all for now! I have a bunch of reports due next week and things will start getting crazy....until then...happy crafting!
